You’ve probably noticed that you're seeing videos more and more. Whether it’s on a social platform or in an email newsletter, videos are becoming the norm. For me, it’s a little nerve-racking to create videos (insert total kid voice coming from an adult), but I know it’s the way of the future! There are so many applications to use video in and ways to introduce it into your daily communications and touches to clients. Here are my tips:
1. How-To Videos — Do you have a process or instruction that you're continually having to explain? Well, this is the answer. You can make a how-to video and use it over and over to send out to clients or even co-workers. The great thing about these is you don’t even need a script — you can simply record yourself doing the action or just walking through the steps. I have found that these are so helpful and a great resource to have.
2. Screen-Share Videos — I looooove these! There are many applications out there that can help you achieve these. We like Cloud App. Or if you do a Zoom call, you can record it and use it for reference later.
3. Customer Testimonial Videos — I would recommend using a professional crew for this, but you can pull some awesome material from them. You can use little snippets for social media posts, newsletter content as well as website content. I feel like these are especially wonderful now through HubSpot because we can track to see how often a video is being viewed and for how long. That kind of data is your friend!
4. Video Calls — Now this isn’t a new thing BUT it is becoming more readily available and accessible. Not only does it save travel time, it really opens up your service areas when you can converse with clients face-to-face.
5. Video Blogging — Whether you use YouTube or your own website, this is future. According to Statista, 85% of all internet users in the United States watch online video content monthly. So, if you put it out there in video form, it's going to be watched.
Video is here and it's here to stay. It's not the most natural thing to be on video, and it takes time to get comfortable, but the more you expose yourself to it, the easier it will become. Figure out your most photogenic angles and get to videoing!
